Students in the Puyallup School District may participate in the Accelerated Reading program in which they take quizzes on the Renaissance Learning website on books they have read. This program, along with Star Reading, helps students, teachers and families track reading comprehension progress.

The library staff and teachers help students select books they are interested in within their reading range.

Where to View Student's AR Reading Record

Students may only take quizzes at school, however, each student's reading record can be accessed at home so that families can share information about their student's progress in Accelerated Reader.

You can log in to Renaissance Home Connect from any computer with internet connection and a compatible browser.  Next, use your child's User Name and Password to access his or her record.

If your child does not have this information, contact your teacher or the library staff.

• Students and their families are responsible for the school library books and textbooks that are checked out in their names.
   
• Students with books and textbooks that are lost or damaged beyond repair will be issued a fine according to the replacement cost of that book.
   
• They have the option of either paying the fine by check or exact cash or by buying a new copy of the book and donating it to the library. Some book damage can be repaired. In that case the librarian will assess the damage and charge a lower fine according to materials needed.

• There are no overdue fines for library books. 
• Once a book is considered overdue, the student may not check out any more books until the overdue book is returned.
• Overdue and Fine emails are sent out automatically every two weeks to the email address on file at the school. Additionally, notices may be sent home in a student's backpack.
