Senior Leadership teams use a School Improvement Plan (SIP) as their main source of information to outline their strategic plans for the growth of their school. A school's stated principles will serve as the foundation for a school improvement plan, which outlines the steps and resources required to accomplish the goals.

Section 6: Plan/Needs Assessment

Contributing Factors in Areas of Strengths and Challenges

New Data System Implementation:
- Building Data Wall is displayed publicly in the office, showing data for individual teachers and grade levels.
- Monthly STAR Math and STAR Reading assessments are administered for grades 2–6.
- DIBELS testing has been expanded from K–3 to also include grades 4–6 to increase instructional insight.
- Classroom Data Walls are posted in every classroom.
- Data is shared with families three times a year through the Principal’s Newsletter.
MTSS/RTI Enhancements:
- Teachers input data via an online form.
- Monthly data meetings focus on students in Yellow and Red intervention zones.
PLC/RTI Guiding Questions (Rick DuFour):
- What do we want kids to learn?
- How will we know if they’ve learned it?
- What will we do if they don’t learn it?
- What will we do for students who already know it?
Assessment and Curriculum Notes:
- DIBELS data collection is new for grades 4–6 this year.
- 6th Grade curriculum now aligns with Middle School Math and ELA, rather than K–5.
- Common assessments are noted to be less effective than other assessment methods currently in use.
- CKLA (Core Knowledge Language Arts) is providing strong reading instruction, as reflected in improved DIBELS scores.
Student Support Enhancements:
- Increased push-in support for students receiving Resource services.
Operational Challenges:
- Breakfast service affects classroom time, especially for grades 5–6 who also attend Band/Orchestra two mornings per week.

Alignment of School Vision and Equity Statement with Building Culture and Daily Practices

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Practices:
- Cultural Celebrations are featured on the All Are Welcome Wall.
- Each grade level team adopts a month to highlight student work related to cultural celebrations.
- Books supporting each monthly theme are available in the office for teacher checkout.
Fostering a Sense of Belonging:
- Classrooms include visuals, photo walls, and co-created spaces to increase connection and inclusion.
